We are Chris and Gill Brunt, and we bought our first keeshond in 1985. We wanted a breed who are good with children and we discovered the keeshonds at Crufts. When we saw a small boy laid fast asleep with his arms around his furry dog. We waited 18 months to get Chani and both of our children Louise and Christopher were brought up with her. That was the beginning of my love affair with this wonderful breed.
We bred our first litter in 1991, we only breed when we want to keep a puppy.
Health is very important to us at Zandvoort, parents are PHPT negative and we have started Elbow and Hip testing all our breeding dog and bitches in the hope of producting healthier litters. All our dogs live in the house or in the specially built dog room. Puppies are born and raised in the house. I judge the breed a Open Show level.
We have been showing our beautiful keeshonds since 1987 the highlights of which are BIS North of England Keeshond Ch Show in 1997, Crufts BOB 1999 both with Cassie, Ch Zandvoort Dream Come True who was our first Champion. Her half brother Danny, Ch Zandvoort Dreamaker winning is crown. In 2008 our import dog Tux Am Ch Lasers Tuxedo Junction of Zandvoort won 2 CC's and a BIS, he won the CC at Crufts, and in 2011 when Tux won the Top Stud Dog Award for both Breed Clubs.
